A bit of history – Lauren Dairy originally started out as a horse-breeding farm over 125 years ago, with 125 brood mares. Through the years it was changed from horses to cows & pigs, and then later to just cows. Today, Lauren Dairy produces 37,000 lbs of milk per day.
Parlor - Quick Facts
- Reconstruction started in February of 2004
- Germania Double 12 Herringbone Parlor installed
- Return alley expanded, with water tank added
- Rubber flooring installed in walk alley and return alley
- Evaporated cooling system installed summer of 2004, along with rubber flooring for observational deck
- Milkings take place 3 times/day – 6 hours each
- Jerseys produce average of 55lbs/day
- Holsteins produce average 75lbs/day
- Research ongoing for the Lauren Tri-Circle® Silicone Liner
